FAQ

How can I join PHA?

Interested individuals may join the organization by filling out a statement of interest form demonstrating their passion and commitment toward our organization, and requesting to be added to the listserv. There are several ways to do this! You can fill out the form under the "Join Us" tab above, you can email phaumich@gmail.com with your interest statement (max 150 words) and you can find our organization on Maize Pages and contact us through there. We are open to new members throughout the entire year. After you submit your interest statement, our Secretary will be in contact with you about next steps.

How much of a time commitment is PHA?

To be considered a member you have to attend three mass meetings, one service event, one fundraising event and one social event per semester. Most past members have said this is a reasonable time commitment. As with every student organization, the work you put into it, you also get out of it!

Where does PHA meet?

All of PHA's mass meetings are held in the School of Public Health, exact room locations will be detailed in our "Upcoming Events" tab, our biweekly Newsletters and our Google Calendar. Other meeting locations are decided on a case by case basis based on the nature of the event, but will be released in the same manner as the mass meeting locations.

Are there membership dues for PHA?

The Public Health Association does require membership dues in order to fund the events that we host every year. The dues usually cost $10 at the start of each semester. However, PHA does not want dues to impede anyone from participating, thus we encourage everyone and anyone who needs financial support to reach out to our Treasurer via email or GroupMe if this is the case. You will still be able to participate in our organization.
